Do they take into account your financial situation (past and present)
when you apply for a visa? We are in quite a bit of debt at the moment
but will be almost clear of it by the time we apply.

On our 136 application we were just asked how much money we would be
taking with us into Australia. Nowhere did it ask about debts etc.

Thank goodness for that! But what if you do not have a substantial
amount of money at the time of applying? We will be saving after we have
been accepted and we own nothing!

We weren't asked anything about our current financial situation just how
much we would be taking with us.

We too have quite a bit of debt at present but luckily we will be able
to pay it all off once we sell our house.

We were granted our visa in August!!!
