Are they any guidelines or similar anywhere that would help
friends/family who have agreed to fill in stat decs for us? I have a
copy of a suggested stat dec from elsewhere on this site, but I'm
about to start contacting people and sending them the form - it
would be useful if I could give them some guidance about what they
need to include and how they get the forms signed (bit hazy on that
part myself).

Any ideas?

If you have a look on the DIMIA website, for form 888 (link below),
you'll find a Stat Dec form designed for use in Australia - its fairly
structured, and gives you a rough idea what to write.

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/888.pdf

As for getting them signed, find a friend who is a solicitor or JP etc
(if you're lucky) and they'll usually do it - ask around, and you'll be
surprised how many people are JPs. Alternatively, go in to most
solicitors offices, and they'll do it for you - but beware of the costs
- they vary greatly, so get a quote first.

If you're still stuck on the wording of the Stat Dec, send me a pm and
I'll get back to you.

Took me ages to find it too - then someone on here pointed

me in the right direction. Give me a shout if you need any help.
