Hi all, I have been on this forum for a while and have found it
immensely useful.

We are pre-July 04 applicants from the USA, and are finally reaching
the final stages of our application.  HOWEVER, on the FBI criminal
history record, a previous charge of mine from college of criminal
trespassing showed up.  The FBI rap sheet didn't say what happened to
the charge -- it was only a misdemeanor and ended up getting dropped.

The FBI record doesn't say this, though, it only says that I was
charged with criminal trespassing.

Is this going to be a problem with DIMIA?  Are there any other
documents that I should be sending to them to clarify?  Can anyone
help??

Thanks!!

Sounds like  a fairly minor offencer, so it shouldn't make any
ddiffereence. You could attach a letter outlining what actually
happened, and saying that in the end the charge was dropped.
Shouldn;t affect your visa applocation at all.

Only criminal records which resulted in a custodial sentence of 12
months or more go against you, anything else is ignored, so no
worries mate.

Not that I have a record, I have just read up on it!!!

Hey there, thanks for responding... yeah, I feel much better about it
as I did some research over the weekend.  I am sending DIMIA a letter
explaining what happened, and it sounds like as long as I haven't spent
a year in jail or a few years on probation or anything, it should be
fine.

So the meds and police are in, now the last agonizing wait is on!!

Totally agree with Manxfamily. You have nothing to worry about as there
have been many on here that have been issued there PR visas and have
worse criminal records.
