De facto relationship during skilled ind. app

Hi,

The timeline for my question is as follows:

1. Oct 2002 Start long distance relationship with girl in UK whilst
living in Ireland

2. Oct 2004 Submit skilled independent visa application

3. Nov 2004 Move to UK, start living with girlfriend permanently

4. Mar 2005 Visa grant

Myslef and my partner would like to move to Australia together in Jan
2006, but she has not applied for immigration, best she could get is a
1 yr. WHV.

My question is, what is the best way to approach this? Do I need to let
DIMIA know that I am in a de facto relationship now, or not? What would
be the best way for my g/f to get to Australia with me?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know for sure but can't you apply together?  I am applying for a
136 skilled independent visa as the primary holder and my boyfriend who
I have been living with for about 2 years is going as defacto on my
visa.  I will send the application with both of our details and
information together.  Could you not do this?

I already have been granted the 136 and it is in my passport... so my
application is complete

Get some professional advice urgently.  You are in a de-facto
relationship that presumably you have not declared to DIMIA, however
while the period of cohabitation is less than 12 months she is not yet
your 'spouse' as far as the Migration Regulations are concerned.

You will need to sponsor for a spouse visa later on, so you need to
address this point.  An online forum is not going to be able to assist
you in a complex question like this.

You should discuss with an experienced professional your options
regarding validating the visa and how you should deal with DIMIA.
