*Most* people (but not all) get an email acknowledgement from DIMIA at
the same time or shortly after their credit card has been debited. That
email from DIMIA inlcudes your case reference number.
You can then put that on the forms when you go for your medicals. If
you're applying for a BN 136 Skilled Independent visa, then a lot of
people do their medicals 12-14 weeks after they've sent the visa
application to DIMIA.
The doctor will not let you have the completed forms. The doctor has to
send them off to DIMIA.
The medicals are only valid for 12 months. And you need to enter
Australia within 12 months from the date of the medicals or the PCCs,
whichever is the earlier. Therefore, you don't want to do your medicals
or PCCs too soon, as this will otherwise limit the amount of time you
have to get to Oz
(and, if you do the meds without a case reference number they may get
lost within DIMIA).

I am planning to go at the end of november on a spouse visa so I want
everything wrapped up asap. I don't want to wait for meds to be
requested if I can help it. How do people manage to front load if the
doctor will not let them have the completed forms?

Sorry, can't help with that. Our visa is a BN 136 Skilled Independent,
which is a completely different porcess to the Spouse Visa.
Maybe if you do a search on "spouse visa" you'll find the info here.

Hi Kev,
The panel doctors are now required to send the completed meds forms
directly to the relevant DIMIA processing centre. They are no longer
permitted to give the forms to you.
All the best,
RT.

Hi Kev,
I just sent away my Spouse visa application and received a case number
and request for medicals about 1 week later. I completed them this week
and was phoned by the doctor to say they have been sent to London
office.
