Yep, I have the stickers on my passports. I have handed over my
passports and original grant letter over the counter in DC. The
gentleman took 2 min to stick the visas. I was not able to digest the
speediness of visa evidencing. All he said was " wait 2 minutes".
But now i have couple of questions, as we are intending to fly from US
to AU, Is it ok if i fly in nov 03 and my family members in feb 04?
Well regarding shipping, What is the best way of dealing about shipping
stuff to AU from US. And finally, the restriction of $10,000 AUD
applies to each person who enters into that country or to the whole
family. Every time we enter oz, can we carry that amount? Or else which
is the best way of dealing financial/money transfers from states to AU?
TIA

Congrats mate,
You lucky... you.
Have a blast down under.
P.S. Re. your first question - I believe that the whole family must
travel together on a first entry.
Cheers.

Congrats to you! Did you call the embassy in DC in advance to make an
appointment for your visa evidencing? Is your information posted on
austimeline so that we can see how long your process took, if so
what's your user name?
Thanks!

Great news VG, you must be stoked.
On shipping, I'm working with a company called Texas International who
seem very good (recommended by Harrow Green in London for me). They
may be able to operate for you wherever they are, if not they can make
a recommendation. I think I'm getting a pretty good deal and very
good service. They're packing everything and we're taking everything
except for small electricals and the TV.
On the cash thing, can you set up a bank account there before you
arrive and wire the cash? If not, wire once you've arrived. Funds
transfer is a lot easier over there than in the US. All the need is a
few international codes, really no big deal.
Lastly, some questions for you please as I am on a very tight schedule
for the remainder of the year.
1. Did you go on your own or is it possible to go alone to evidence
all passports in the party?
2. Did you make an appointment beforehand? Sounds like you didn't.
I'm running out of time and may take a sickie on a Monday morning
hopping off to DC.
Many thanks and I hope you've recovered from your hangover ;)
