hi guys
can you help?
when you go for your chest xrays, do they give you the film to take to
the medicals, or do they send it there?
was just sat here wondering as we are having to go to two different
places to complete the full meds
thanks all

Hi Manda,
We had our xrays at Huddersfield Hospital who then sent them to doctors
as the consultant wasn't available to sign them off. If he had been
available, then they would have given them to us.
Hope thats OK

I had x-rays about 10 days before my meds and then the radiologist took
them personally to the doctor in time for the medical examination. I
think it depends on where you go as at some big medical places you have
the x-rays the same day as the meds. You could find our where ya
nearest radiology/med exam places are from the DIMIA website and ring
them to find out the procedure.

We had ours at Kingston Hospital a couple days before our medicals. We
had to wait while the radiologist wrote his report (in case they weren't
good quality and had to be redone), then they sent them personally to
the doctors (in the next street). I wouldn't have thought they'd give
them directly to applicants, though.
Good luck!

The radiologist reported on them while we waited and handed them to us,
the films were left open but the report was sealed, he did say though
that they were clear.
Are you having them done locally or are you going further a field?

On the same (or similar) subject, we have booked our meds for 4th
January & were given an appt for the xrays DIRECTLY AFTER the medical
examinations (Huddersfield)... from reading the replies above this seems
the wrong way round.....?

Hi Claire, We've just had all of ours done Claire. We had the xrays
before the medicals and took them to the GP who sends them off with the
all the medical paperwork as soon as the blood test is back from
testing. I think you need to double check but I'd say it was the wrong
way round. Best wishes Katy x

Just rang Bupa at Elland & spoke the head radiologist.
She says it doesn't matter which way round it is done as the radiologist
has to fill the form in before they go to the doctor. She said that Dr
Mason would get the xrays within a day or two of us having them.
