Hi. Long story as short as possible: My husband and I are having a hard
time qualifying for a visa. I had a crazy thought of going to
cosmetology school to become a hairdresser because it's on the MODL
list.

List of Negatives:
1) schooling takes 10 months and 10 months from now the MODL could
change
2) would have to ask current employer for Mondays off in order to go to
school (school is Sat, Sun, Mon.) and would most likely need to explain
to him that I want to move to Australia and may not be working for him
after a while
3) schooling costs $9,000 US Dollar
4) would earn less money because I'm not working on Mondays
5) I would have to continue to work at my current place of employment
(as an office manager) so that I could still qualify for the minumum
work experience

List of Positives:
1) get my visa?!?

Is it worth it? I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks Everyone-

Hi Emily,

If you haven't been a hairdresser before then I don't think that
10 months of study could make you one, see the TRA uniform
assessment criteria at http://www.workplace.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/D551847F-34F5-418F-892F-

You'd need a minimum of two years' study here and that seems the best
option in terms of time, but obviously the cost would be an issue.

Cheers,

Thanks, George, for your insight. It was wishful thinking I guess.
