Hi,

Considering a skilled apllication to Oz. As a trades person going for
TRA I have to make a statutory declaration infornt of a lawyer as one of
my previous employers retired and folded his business. Cant get a
statement from him.

From what I can see, there is room here for sexing up my CV /
application. I could tell them I have more experience than I really do
at that employer. How in depth do TRA & DIMA look into cases? If I got
caught out would it bar me from Oz permanently in future?

Thats called fraud.
Its this kind of attitude that makes it hard for everyone else. Cases
like yours are the ones which cause DIMA to insitute the hoops through
which we all have to jump, as they attempt to weed out those applicants
that are lying on their forms.
There are ways of them checking - who knows, they may be in touch with
your former employer about another visa applicant........and in
addition, this forum is now well-known in DIMA circles, and is read
frequently by interested case officers.........

Information from migration agents, who have been told by the DIMA
officers themselves; I have also had a pm from a poster whose CO had
told him he had read his posts, and there are at least two COs who have
posted on here in the past.......!
