hi all, I am fairly new to these forums and have been scouring you
posts for a while.
I have been doing my Masters of Commerce in Melbourne which is a 2 yr
course and have specialised in finance and financial planning
Unfortunately this gives me only 40 points on the occupation list.
I have 2 options-
1. either study 4 more units and get a specialisation in accounts an
then apply for PR, or
2. I have a cousin who is a citizen living in Melbourne for 5 yrs now
She's has not been working for the last 2 yrs due to a series o
surgeries. She is willing to sponsor me. but the problem would be t
prove our relationship coz her mom, i.e my aunt does not have birt
certificate, school certificates or marriage certificates. I am no
sure if she could get a new birth certificate issued and if that woul
be valid.
I am not sure which path to choose. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank

Hi There,
With the benefit of hindsight looking at migration requirements before
studying would have been advantageous :) Many make mistake of studying
a 2 year program e.g. Masters and assume it will give points....
I would suggest do as you suggest, further units for accounting to get
further points.

Consult a registered migration agent for an assessment of your case.
All the best

I have been told that in suspect cases DIMA have requested DNA tests to
prove relationship. Perhaps you can get such a test done in advance to
prove the relationship ?
btw Indian passports conveniently list parents name on the last page - a
family tree can thus be drawn up using passport photocopies
In either case you really should get a migration agent
