In case one goes for an MODL assessment, do you still have to get
assessed for your skilled occupation? Sounds a little redundant to me,
but couldn't find any previous entries on it here.

Your MODL is your occupation so you only need it once. You need to prove
that for the 60pts and the ASCO code must be on the MODL list which
gives you the extra points.

I presume you are talking about the TRA assessment? the reason you get
this assessed is because people can and do lie, you can get practically
anything over the internet including qualifications, by doing the skills
assessment the amount of detail required when applying and the detailed
references you need should help prove you can walk the walk as well as
talk the talk, after all I for 1 dont want oz to be like the uk and let
anybody in thats why we are moving away in the first place. Our agent
told us of the 1 failure they have had the 1 bloke who claimed to be a
joiner had all the qualifications on paper but it turned out he was a
property developer who had no skills at all, the TRA assessment caught
him out. If you dont fill in the TRA form fully and I mean detailed by
that then you will join the list of TRA refusals. We were happy to
comply and we got ours ok,d in 4 weeks.
Hope this helps dont mean to be cheeky just honest
