Underage kids migrate later - new visa necessary?

Hi everybody,

looks like I'll migrate on my own for a year or so in advance for
different reasons. My underage kids are included in my application of
course. If their visas aren't activated until the given deadline, do
they (or I for them) have to apply again or is there a possibility to
extend the timeframe for activation for another year? Has anybody done
this already?

Please help me - it is important! Thanks! Have a nice New Year's Eve

Hi Barbara
As far as im aware the validation of visas only happen when all
applicants arrive in Australia. so your visa would not be valid until
your kids got there and if that was after the date they set you would
have to re apply again.

I dont think they are flexible as there are so many trying to get in,
but i could be wrong and willing to be corrected.

Might not be what you want to hear but i hope it helps you make
decisions.

all the best.

I don't think they are flexible either, I believe once the visa has been
issued, its very difficult to get the validation date changed.

Good luck.

Hi Barbara,

If the kids are included in the application but never make the
validation trip, their visas are still valid but liable to cancellation,
which would most likely take place as you were trying to catch the plane
to bring them here unless you had a very very good excuse.  Therefore a
validation trip is a much better idea, if possible.

Cheers,
