Hi,
We are a family of 4 and are busy getting our TRA stuff put together to
send to an agent. We are applying on my husband's trade as an
electrician 136 skilled visa. :)
We are just about ready to send the TRA off, but have just had an e-mail
from an Australian company who have said they can get us a sponsor into
WA, we havent looked into sponsorship at all and don't really know what
it is about.
My question is should we just carry on as we are via an agent or should
we just let this company get a sponsor for us, do we have to pay for
sponsorship?
Sorry if it's a bit of a dumb question but we just don't know anything
about sponsorships. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Mousy,
First step is to read Booklet 5 on the www.immi.gov.au website.
Ask your agent about this, however if the company is offering you a PR
sponsorship, and you're happy with the job, then you can go with that,
since it's going to be cheaper and quicker and as long as you make a
genuine effort to stay with the employer, you can't be tied to them for
any period. However for PR you'd need your TRA assessment anyway.
Cheers,
