You've got it spot on. And yes you can also 'frontload' your health an
character (police) checks but personally I wouldn't do them with th
application, I'd do them after getting an acknowledgment and onc
you're within three months of being processed
If you send a blank mail to aspc.processing@immi.gov.au they reply wit
an automated response saying up to which date they are processin
currently in the different visa classes and recently they added tha
you can do the health and character checks even before getting a cas
officer but they advise to keep it within the three month range. I a
guessing they say that because they are only valid for 12 months an
hence you would have to go get the visa stamped within a year of th
health/police checks being issued, which might not leave you with muc
notice for your trip if they take a long time to process you. Does tha
make sense
