hi....
I was in the process of doing the TRA form from here in the uk, But a
u will know the TRA are nolonger assessing applicants from the UK ( 1s
of sept).
The new assment involves what seems to me to be alot more than the ol
TRA. But this only applys to the UK and a few other countires.
I was born in Ireland and served my time as a Carpenter and Joine
there, I moved here about 5 years ago with my wife.
My main question is would I be better off applying from Ireland an
not doing this new assment, would it be easier and worth it?
any help and info would be great.........
Thanks in Advance........

Hi Alan,
No-one knows the answer to this - we have to wait and see what
Vetassess is like - but if you have a FAS certificate and completed an
apprenticeship, it would be easier and quicker to lodge your
application with TRA before 1 September. If you go with Vetassess,
bear in mind the whopping great fees and the likely delays, since
they're trade testing everyone in each of the relevant trades.
I don't think you've got the option of applying through Ireland later
- it's all based on where you happen to be "resident", which in your
case would be the UK.
