arunkumar.shukkala@gmail.com - 23 Jun 2008 06:24 GMT Hi, Appreciate if anyone and let know on the usual timeline a decision maker takes to confirm on a VISA grant decision. Based on my enquiry to the immi dept, they had updated that its now waiting for decision maker allocation and there is some slight delay on allocation of the decsion maker..I got this response 2 weeks back. After that there is no further info on my application..
Regards, Arun
Happy Jack - 23 Jun 2008 06:47 GMT You will get it in first or second week of July. The delay is due to th fact that the visas have probably been run out for this financial yea and hence they are no longer issuing them in the last few weeks. B patient. You have waited this long, now you see the light at the end o the tunnel, you will soon be in daylight :

sram466 - 05 Jul 2008 08:26 GMT Hi Arun, Jack, Milly,
I don't wish to dampen the spirit but what make you so sure the Department will start allocating CO (Case Officer) to application submitted in Oct 2007.
I doubt the processing queue will move as fast as all of us have expected it to. Nevertheless let's keep the hope high ....
Regards.
Senda2008 - 08 Jul 2008 14:52 GMT According to a Customer Service Representative within the ASP Post-Lodgement department, standard waiting time is 4-8 weeks afte Case officer forwards an applicant file to a Decision maker. Once th file reaches the decision maker, in best case scenario decision will b made immediately, in worst case decision maker can ask and conduct further Queries from the applicant if he/she is not satisfied with an information on applicants file. So even if a case officer is satisfie with all the requirements submitted by an applicant , the decisio maker will have a final say on the case, with a possibility to ask fo further queries.

My file is still currentl 'waiting' allocation to a Decision Maker. My online status stil doesn't say 'all documents met', so I think I still have a long way t go.
Arun,
Did you apply online ? Does your status show 'met' ?.
This is really frustrating news for me. I have been waiting for mor than 8 months now for a temporary 18 month visa. Surely DIAC realize this, it is downright ridiculous of them to have this kind of approac after having introduced the visa last September to meet the shortage of skilled professionals in the country. Somebody at the office has no got their thinking caps on, but its too late for that anyways, th damage has been done :(.

I took some time off and decided not to look at the progress and work on my work qualifications. Its further sad that for a 18 month visa, they have taken such a long time. For me the status to most of the docs have been changed to met and others they have confirmed thru mail that the review has been done and no further details is required. Think they have not updated the remaining status in the app status screen. Jack , can you send the exact mail details sent as a response to your query as I feel there is some difference in my response to the prev one .Need to understand your case also
