Once you receive your letter of acceptance/visa approval, how long d
you have until it expires?  I plan to apply for a general skille
migration visa subclass 175 or 176 and I was wondering how long w
would have to leave.  Thanks! :

Just to make things a bit clear about the entry date...please note tha
when you get the visa stamped you will get initial entry date t
validate the visa..you hae to make initial entry once before tha
date..its usually the expiry date of your PCC or medicals whichever i
earlier..so to be approx. its 1 year maximim from the PCC or medical
date...after you make an initial entry then either you can stay ther
or come back..the 175 visa is valid for 5 years..after that is stil
you dont get the citizenship then you need to apply for RRV..this i
just a brief description...you can log into DIAC's website for mor
detail

Thank you for elaborating.  This shortens the timeline quit
dramatically.  I may be not be finished with my graduat
coursework/degree by the time we would have to leave

You don't have to STAY here, just make your initial entry and activat
your visa (this is automatic when immigration scans your passport).
Then you have 5 years to enter as a move.  But keep in mind, your vis
is only good for 5 years, if you make your initial entry and then don'
return until the end of your fifth year, you will have to apply for
resident return visa if you want to return home for a visit, or g
anywhere outside of Australia.

You can make your entry during school holidays and return to finis
your studies.  I know it will be expensive making two trips, but i
frees up the timeline somewhat.

Best of luck!!
Marily
