This e-group is really helpfull since the beginning of my application
and I want to thank all for sharing your experiences here.
I am in the final stage of my application already and recently
requested to send our passport.
Can somebody provide me info of the following:
1. How long the visa section will return our passport if I send it by
courier?
2. If I bring the passport in person, is it possible to get it back on
the same day or the next day, if not how many days I'll wait for its
released?

You do not say where your application is lodged. It is often possible to
bring your passport(s) to the visa office and receive the visas on the same
day but not always.

Thanks a lot Jim and PMM for your prompt reply, I applied at CHC
Singapore as a skilled worker immigrant with 4 dependants.
Hope to find additional replies based from specific info required.

Hi
We sent ours by courier (in the UK) and had them back in 2 weeks. You
could definitely go in person as well. I wouldn't trust any mail system
so its either go yourself or pay more for a gauranteed courier service.
Good luck in Canada

If you cannot go yourself then send the passport(s) by courier with a
prepaid return courier AWB.

I am applying through the Buffalo visa office, but it is very expensive to
take a trip all the way to Buffalo. Yet, I cannot give up my passport
because it is needed for frequent travel. What can I do?

Do you want your COPR or not? Your choice, you either send/deliver the
passport or basically forget about it.
