Hi, seasons greetings to you all. Ok, this is not strictly an immigration
question I know, so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to be asking. I'm
living in Ontario and plan to move back to Alberta in a couple of months.
I'm going to be driving and the most direct route takes me through the
northern US. I'm travelling fairly lightly, packing my car with several
boxes of personal belongings. My question is, do I need to complete any
customs documentation to transport my belongings through the US. Also, would
there be a problem me stopping in the US for maybe a week en route to visit
with friends? Once again, sorry if this is the wrong place. If it is, maybe
someone could point me in the right direction please.
Thanks in advance.
Pete

You will need to document really valuable items to show ownership prior to
the move. Obviously used items will not be a problem. Just tell the Border
Service Agent what you are doing when you re-enter Canada.
