I received today a cheque from Buffalo refunding the excess portion of
my RPRF, $870.71 for 2 people. I applied July 05 and AOR Aug 05. I
wonder if the fact that they issued a refund cheque implies that they
are actually looking at my file and that there might be some hope of
getting IA in the not-too-distant future. Anyone else have any similar
experiences? Thanks!

The refund means only that they have processed the refund. Application
processing will be another thing. Check out the CIC's sebsite for
processing times for guidance.

Mkcloud,
I have the total opposite experience with Buffalo with regards to my
wife's application. They got the file April 20th and by 16th June had
returned her passport with visa and COPR. However nothing on the
refund front. I'll wait for a cheque in the mail. If I do not get it
by the time my wife lands, I'll apply for a refund at the POE.
