My wife is Canadian citizen, I am German. We want to move to Vancouver
in 2007. Right now, we are living in Germany. We are married since two
years. What papers/forms do I need for moving to Canada. I don't
necessarily want to apply for Canadian citizenship. I just want to be
able to live and work there.
Can anybody give me advices for my first steps?
Thank you.

You need to apply for Canada Permanent Residence status. Based
on your marriage, you should be able to apply under spousal
category in Family Class. You can read the information here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/sponsor/out.html
The process should take several months.

In fact you cannot just apply for Canadian citizenship. You need
to be PR first.

You don't want to make a decision without hearing both sides of story.

I totally disagree with you.
There is lot of racism here. Some foreign degrees which are recognized
like mine also don't get jobs. My experience in Germany, US etc was not
counted. Also they show racism in a subtle way, not open way, that is
even more dangerous. You are probably from a country like that of mine
where people show emotions directly but here it is different.
Immigrants come with point system meaning they are valued in Canada,
otherwise they should fail in the point system. But they do not get job.
Highly educated people are jobless, either they say no Canadian
experience or say over qualified. The local whites after graduation get
job and they would become senior to someone like me who will find it
difficult to get even though I am much much more qualified.
You say people should not complaint living here, we never thought the
government would cheat us, so if they want us here and can cheat us, we
can find fault with them and stay here. In fact I am not willing to stay
and compromise and planning to go back.
I do not see any bright future here. Also I would like to say that if
immigrants are not treated well, they will have no love for this country
and will identify with the country they came from and will not really
merge with the society here. It would create a dangerous society with
divisions among people and it is not good for the country's progress. So
my advice would be that the government should not invite people on
immigration under point system saying that they are welcome. They should
state what jobs say the 100000 educated people have been doing, say like
1000 doctors that immigrated in 2006 are driving taxis(500), cleaning
garbage(300), doing telesales(200) and so on.
If they tell the truth and then we come, then it is our fault but now it
is their fault and they have cheated enormous number of immigrants and
these immigrants for sure will not be able to merge with the society and
will always feel isolated which is dangerous and I would suggest the
government view this seriously and not allow any more immigration as per
point system but try providing jobs to those here.
Also I read an article saying blood donors are few here. How will
immigrants feel like donating to people here when the government treats
immigrants as alien. Unless they give us positions we deserve they
cannot get something back from us.
Dev. Ontario.

AFAIK immigrants have trouble giving blood in Ontario (not sure about other
provinces. I used to give blood back home but have been unable to do so
here.
So are you sure immigrants can give blood ????
Or is it just another stab in the dark to stir the crap like you usually do

Guys,
You are quoting something I quoted and then saying I made up numbers? I
was quoting something from another post.
Anyway, the reality is that the Globe and Mail is Canada's largest and
best known newspaper.
Only biased immigration attornies and consultants would deny the
realities in the July 11, 2006 article "Canada not welcoming to
immigrants, study finds"
Why?
Because this was based on a multi-year study conducted by Canada itself!
If the Canadian government is aware that people have a horrible time
gettin' jobs, why don't you guys believe it?
Anyway, enough said.
Go to Canada at your own risk, if you wish, but bring plenty of cash,
because you'll need it!
And just because someone has two computers or two screenanmes, or
because more than one person on here is aware of the fraud of Canadian
immigration and wants to warn others.....what's the big deal?
I'm not the one writing the articles in Canada's newspapers, nor am I an
official commisioning immigrations studies, all of which confirm what
many people know........that it really sucks for newcomers to Canada
because there is massive fraud in the system, i.e. immigration lawyers
lie to clients, and because there is so little quality employment in
Canada, AND because Canadian employers are bigoted, biased, smug jerks,
whom hate hiring newcomers, generally speaking.

Hmm good att. maybe thats why some peopl find it hard to find work. the
att. smells a bit funny. :)
Just to remind you "I AM NOT A CONSULTANT NOR AM ASSOCIATED WITH ANY
TRADE WITH REGARDS TO IMMIGRATION"
Just a "regular joe" who on occasion is able to offer help and advice
"WITHOUT RESORTING TO CUT AND PASTE FROM NEWSPAPERS" even if it may not
be what the other part wants to hear.
So whats your story and experience apart from the "cut paste" ability ??

I reckon Iluv and Dbbc are one and the same. they seem to hunt around as
quote as a pair. I already called Dbcc out as a troll in the "real"
group. and I reckon iluv is just a sock puppet of dbcc.
neither offer help or advice other than "dont come to canada" or read
this horror story from the "oh so biased" globe and mail.
Hey moderator of the forum ban me if you wish but while you are at it
nail the cut and paste artists mentioned above and give us all a rest
