I am a UK citizen living in the US on a temporary E2 visa.  We are interested
in moving to Canada.  My 2 year old 'US citizen' son has had 2 heart
surgeries, one of them open heart.  It is not anticipated that he will need
any more surgeries in the foreseeable future.  However, would we be denied
from living in Canada because of his condition?  Moreover, does the fact that
we are UK citizens have an favourable implications on immigration as Canada
is a part of the Commonwealth?

If there has been a favourable prognosis with no likelihood of recurring
problems then the medical condition would not likely hinder your
immigration.  There is no advantage to being from a commonwealth country on
the other hand.
