I recently moved to Canada as a PR. I am married and have a daughter. I
started working in May, and my income so far has been only about
$30,000 for 2006, although my annual salary is $60,000.
When should I apply for sponsoring my parents? Should I do it right now
or should I wait to file my tax return for 2006 before applying? When
would CIC actually verify my income?
My parents are in India. What are the timelines for
sponsorship/immigration?
Thanks for all your valuable inputs.

If your anual income is 60k and have a job letter to prove that, then
you can sponsor your parents now. Your income is varified once you
submit your sponsorship application. Once your sponsorship aplication
is approved, you can then have your parents submit their application.
Submit your job letter along with your recent pay stubs to prove your
income and you should be fine.

Rajiv
Check the processing times from within Canada----33 months to approve
you as a sponsor then another 3 years so in six years will your parents
pass their medicals????
You need to provide an option "C" printout at the time of your
application --NOT A LETTER FROM YOUR EMPLOYER--otherwise it will be
more like 48 months from within Canada.
You need to look at www.sponsoryourparents.ca
If you can get them here considere a H&C application from within Canada
based on everything mentioned on that website and everything any CIC
Minister has said publically for the last twenty years.
