LMO in Alberta

how long do i have to wait for the LMO?
my prospective employer applied in september last year!? a friend of
mine who applied in Richmond, B.C. works already in Canada. his LMO
was ready in 5 weeks and i am waiting more than 5 months!!!
does anybody know why?

There is a terrible back log of files in Alberta. it is taking up to 7
months to receive a LMO.   They have agreed to expedite certain "high
demand" occupations, but that will probably only further slow down
someone that is not in that category.

Simply too many files, not enough officers.
