I am new canadian landed immigrant and searching for a job in IT /
telecom industry. So far no luck.
I have total 12 yrs experience with 7.5 yrs in USA now.
I am sure there are lot of people here in this forum who have a
similar background. Kindly help me in locating the job sources. Some
people tell me that you must be in your target region and then search
for job. Being outside canada does not help. Is it true ?

IT in Canada is not what it used to be. Try Germany, USA, Switzerland,
UK, UAE, ...
In Toronto you will work for 60 to 70K/year, almost 40% goes for
taxes. Two weeks of vacation/year.
Is that a good life?
Cheap IT expert for Canada, yes.
Then, after 25 years they will tell you: "Sorry, no money for
pension'. What did you save? Survive on that.
Good luck!
Somehow, Canada is a rich country, but middle class people have such a
poor life. Most of them live from pay cheque to pay cheque.
No savings, always in debt or zero?! Many buy food on credit cards.

Yes, you will hear song that you have 'free' health care. Try to visit
dentist. Try to get medication. Try to examine eyes.  If emergency
takes you from downtown to hospital, you will see when you have to pay
for it.
For the 'free' part, you pay for it every day huge taxes. Plus,
hospitals always beg for money. Broke. Cancer patients pay $18 for
parking when they go for radiation treatment.
Can you imagine, 'free' health care?

Think twice before you give your education and skills as a free gift
to Canada. Almost nobody immigrates to Canada from Europe anymore.
Canadian dollar is worth nothing in Europe. Look roads in Canada, like
Cuba.

If car insurance is $150/month, you will pay $300/month. hahaha, no
Canadian experience trick.
When it comes to salaries, you will be paid less, again same trick, no
Canadian experience. But, always against you. Volunteer, work for free
2-3 years.
Canada does nothing for new immigrants, free, educated human beings.
Nothing.

Try to stay in your homeland. It gave you education, raised you, ...
why giving everything to somebody to take advantage of you? Or, go
somewhere where they pay you according to your skills.

Bring all your savings to 'the best country in the World', you will
need it to survive.
