police clearance question

Hi,
I had a question regarding police clearance. I am sponsoring my wife
on a spouse visa. She is in India.
She has lived in the US as well as India and thus I need police
clearance from both these places.

I have had a difficult time getting FBI clearance done from the US
owing to issues with the fingerprints.
Is it okay for me to go ahead and file her application in Mississauga
while the police clearance process takes its time? Can both these be
done in parallel or do I have to make sure that I have all documents
(medical, police clearance etc.) are in place before filing?
Would appreciate your input.
Thanks
Rog

Hello,

CPC Mississauga will probably return the application to you without
looking at it or creating a file number if its missing anything. These
spousal cases are designed to be stream-lined, and they go very fast
once filed.

Usually its faster to wait!  If they send an application back to you,
it will likely take 6 weeks, during which time the other documents
might be ready. You would then have to wait to get your application
back, or to get a letter with a file number before you move ahead.

Thanks. That is useful information. Has anyone on the newsgroup had a
similar experience?
