Hi,

I have got the authorization to immigrate to Canada (the immigration
paper say I must arrive before the 07 of july : which is quite soon).

I don't have an address yet, and still a lot of stuff to do before
migrating for good to Canada (in a few months) : work, family,
administrative ... issues.

I have a lot of questions concerning immigration process, papers, ...

I have to validate some papers (papers given at the embassy when I
have been authorized to immigrate) on my arrival to Canada : I have
planned a few weeks trip to Canada in a few weeks for this papers.

I don't have an address in Canada yet (will only have one when I will
move all my stuff there in a few months)
How to get my PR card without a permanent address ?
In how long is it send to you ?
Do you have to go in person to get it, or is it send to you by mail ?

Is there other papers that you receive by email in the weeks after you
land (as I will only be in Canada for a few weeks before coming back a
few months later definitevely, and so will not be able to get them ) ?

Thanks for all your answers as all of this is stressing me a lot and I
don't arrive to reach by phone any immigration representative.

Regards
Thierry

Go to "Mailboxes ETC" and signup for an account with them.  Use that for all
your applications while in Canada.  They will collect mail on your behalf.
For a small charge they will even forward it to your home country.

The landing process is very simple.  Even if you are not ready I recommend
you go to Canada and at least have you paperwork done.  Don't miss the
deadline.  Else things will be delayed unnecessarily.

Good luck.

We are in a similar situation, having to "land" before September.  We are
flying out in July to validate our residency before flying back to the UK &
begin the actual process of preparing to move within 2 years.

>I don't have an address yet, and still a lot of stuff to do before migrating for good to Canada (in a few months) : work, family, administrative ... issues.

You won't need an address until you apply for your PR card, you can fly in &
depart to validate your residency on the same day (not desirable for
transatlantic flights), you can check in to a hotel bed & breakfast for your
stay. I imagine like us you will not be able to apply for a PR card without
an address or be in Canada long enough to actually collect it.

Without a PR card you will not be able to return to Canada without a travel
document which costs $50 per applicant per time, which you have to apply for
from your countries Canadian immigration offices.

I can't speak for the actual timescale in applying for & receiving
notification to collect the PR card.

You can apply for the card to be "urgently processed" within Canada if you
include copies of your flight ticket & I am looking into doing this while we
are there.

Hope that answers some of your questions.
