I am moving from US to Canada this summer. I am not a US citizen, and
have a Canadian study permit. Is it possible at all to drive a car
that is still under lien in the US (with a credit union) into Canada.
If it is possible, what are the papers that I should show at the
border crossing to the Canadian immigration officers?

To import the car permanently into Canada, you need official
permission from the lien holder to move the car to Canada. AFAIK
you may also need the lien holder to return your original title
since it will be needed both to export the car out from USA and
to import the car into Canada.
If in the other hand you plan to drive the car to visit Canada
only, then you may be able to do that if you can prove that you
in-fact just visiting and you will bring the car back to USA
after the visit over.

If you are planning to just visit Canada then there is no need to get any
permission from the lien holder. However, if you plan to import and
register the car in Canada then you do need clearance from the lean holder
and meet all of CCRA's requirements for importing a car into Canada.
