Hi
I am a Canadian citizin living in the UK. I have been here for almost 9 years.
My Commonlaw partner of 4 years is a British Citizin. WE have decided that we
want to move to Canada around May next year.
I have a few questions. The CIC website is a bit confusing and there are so
many forms I would like to know what are the right ones to fill out.
Does my partner have to go for a medical?
If yes what does he need to bring for the medical? ie forms etc.
Are the picture sizes different then in the UK?
Do I have to have the applications sent over before he goes for the medical?
Can I do them seperately? For example sponsorship and then apply for Perm
Status for my partner?
If we get accepted before we go how does that work? Do we have to time it so
when we get accepted we need to go right away?
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated
Kind Regards
Vicki

All of your questions are answered in the CIC's website - look for the
spousal sponsorship overseas forms and guides. They are complete but they
require work to complete and understand. Your partner would have to take an
immigration medical of course and it is done up front. When a visa isissued
he would have until the anniversary of the medical to actually land in
Canada.
