Friends,

I got married on June 25th. Some questions linger in the back of my
mind. Please help out.

I started India vacation May 25th 2008 (till June 24th 2008). I saw a
few girls but did not materialize. I finally started my return
process.

On June 19th saw this girl that my moms cousin introduced. I liked
the girl and she like me too. We talked for quite some time to
understand all the things. Finally we both agreed that we should
marry.

Due to money reasons(tickets are not cheap and the fact that I am a PR
since a year only) and my parents age and the fact that my sister was
visiting too at the same time we got engaged on June 23rd and got
married on June 25th. YES IT WAS A MARRIAGE PUT TOGETHER REALLY
QUICK.

I moved my tickets, got permission from my boss to arrive 10 days
late. We got married on June 25th and I left on July 4th back to
Toronto. THE WEDDING WAS A DETAILED RITUALISITC WEDDING LASTED FOR
THE ENTIRE DAY. ALL DETAILS WERE FOLLOWED TO THE LETTER.

My wife is in India right now waiting for a passport. Once Passport
comes I will send the application for her PR stuff.

Since wedding happened really quick in a week, what should I watch out
for ? It is a REAL GENUINE WEDDING. I dont have any reason to CHEAT
ANYONE.

How do you prepare the application to show that the marriage is
GENUINE and NOT FOR CONVENIENCE ? I wuld not go thru elaborate
RITUALS just for the heck of it.

I am in regular touch with my wife every single day by phone and by
Computer Chat and Email. I call her more than once. She calls me
too. I can provide records for all these.

Please help anyone. Should I write a letter and my wife write a
letter explaining the sequence of events and why wedding happened in
only one week ?

I forgot to include one question.

I got married in a traditional ritualistic HINDU wedding. I have a
lot of photos.

I have enclosed in my application 40 photos.

Engagement,
Wedding rituals,
Reception
After wedding photos (visit to relatives house)
Photo of me and my spouse chatting on the internet.

I can add MORE PHOTOS but I am not sure what is a REASONABLE number ?

Good! You'll need it! Especially you will need picture of both
of you with the officiant / celebrant / priest.

It will be harded to prove your relationship. Make sure to
prepare a strong organized set of proof.

Sure. But shouting about it won't help you any. CIC just care
about what you can prove.

Get more proof of the relationship and interdependence after
marriage. Get pictures not only on the wedding but before and
after as well. Collects any documents that have both your name
on it. Collect any letters and cards from friends and family
mention you both as a couple or congratulate your marriage. Of
course if the amount is huge, you may want to select only some
of them.

Show interdependence: if you send money to her, make sure to
keep the proof. Proof of joint account and joint ownership of
assets. Will or life insurance benefiting each other.

Make sure you keep these as proof as well. The chat log and
e-mail printout shold be proof as well (select some). The
important thing here is that you want to show continuous
relationship.

You will need to write an essay about it as part of the
application anyway. Fast relationship do happen, just make sure
you are prepared with proof.
