We are landed immigrants and came to Canada (from US) on 2nd Sep 2007.
We all are Canadian PR except for my 2-1/2 years old daughter who is a
USA citizen (we are not US citizen). She got the temp visitor visa for
up to 1st Sep 2008 which is about to expire in 3 days from now. I
Filled for the extension about 35 days ago by registered mail. CIC
require that we apply for extension at least 30 days before the
expiration of the visa. We have not get any reply yet about the
extension from CIC.

What are our options? Will she automatically gets some grace period
due to the fact that extension application reached the CIC more than
30 days ago but its still under process? I or my wife cant enter US
without getting US visa so we cant just cross the border at Niagara
and re-enter to get daughter's passport stamped. Can we just cross the
Canadian post and than make a U turn without getting into USA?  Can we
send our 2-1/2  years old with her aunt (my sister who is a Canadian
Citizen and hence don't need visa to USA)  to USA and reenter into
Canada?  A quick reply in this regard will be really appreciated.

Thanks

She is OK because you submitted the application for extension.  Do no worry
overmuch.

and a supplementary question is that if she gets out of status even
for a week, will that cause any bump in her getting the PR status here
in Canada? I am going to mail her papers for sponsership  in couple of
days.

She is not out of status now because you submitted the extension
application.  Do not let her get out of status.  Look after your family!
