The only real substitute for IELTS is a proof that your native
language is English (e.g. you born and raised in a country /
region that have English as native language).
From your spelling only, that seems not to be the case.

I concur. IELTS is the only way to go, I have all my clients that are
non-native English speakers do it.
If you don't, you are likely to get a request to do it later, or they
may "assess" your language points really low based on the info you
provide and refuse the case.
Think of IELTS as your protection - you know exactly what your points
should be.

Both myself & another Brit (despite the fact he was also proficient in French
as he had a second home there), found ourself taking IELTs under advice to
ensure maximum points on the language front.
No idea if he got his residency though.
