Please can anybody give me guidance on the following relating to my
Skilled Worker Visa application through the London office :-

Timescale from application to decision (i know it all depends but a
rough idea would be great)

I have to wait four weeks to get my police certificate through, better
to file without this (include an explanation it is to follow) and
submit when it arrives, or wait for the certificate and submit all
papers together?

Finally, I have carried out numerous on line assessments, and have
also had an immigration lawyer check my circumstances in detail to
assess my points score. All suggest I have 68 points. I also have a
clean criminal history and ample settlement funds. However I
constantly hear how these points are no guarantee of a successful
application. Can anyone give me guidance on how much the decision is
down to the decision is down to the whim of the immigration officer.
Am I pretty certain of a positive outcome or should I be very wary
right up until everything is confirmed.

Any hints/info gratefully appreciated.

The phrase is "cautiously optimistic".  Don't sell your house or quit your
job, but it looks favourable.

Better to include ALL req. documents.
Many delays appear related to LACK of information.

See the Check list specific to the London cic

There is a checklist and it may be prudent if you read it through a couple
of times.

John,

I know some people living in the Uk have applied in march but not heard
anything as yet. You will receive an acknowledgement stating that you
will hear in 6 months although this may not necessarily be the case.

If you don't submit the Police Certificates, they might return your
application or just sit on it until you send them in. This could mean
that you only go into the queue when they condsider your application to
be complete.

Hope this helps.
