Could they have lost our application?

Couples who have submitted their applications for spousal sponsorship from
outside around the time ours was submitted receive an acknowledgement letter
from the Manila embassy within 20 days of sponsorship approval. It's been 2
months since I was approved for sponsorship and our application transferred
to Manila from Mississauga, yet we've received no word from the embassy as
yet. Unfortunately our fax inquiry sent to the Manila embassy is also not
being answered (it's been several days). I'm scared that our application was
somehow "lost" en route from Mississauga to Manila. Not only would this
delay our application another 4 months and cause considerable additional
expense, but our original proof of relationship would also be lost,
including personal correspondence of sentimental value.

Is it possible they might have really lost it? Anyone hear of such a thing
happening before? What options were available in such a case, and what was
done? Needless to say, it's the not knowing right now that is causing us a
great deal of pain and stress. How long should we reasonably wait for a
response to our fax before flooding them with correspondence and additional
faxes?

Anything's possible, but I did hear of one couple who didn't receive ANY
communication at all, until they got their passport request, they didn't
even receive an acknowledgment.

I did so already last week.  I was told by the nice lady to basically f***k
off with my embassy matters which they do not handle and know nothing about.
After sponsorship approval, I was told that it is an embassy matter from
then on and never to call an agent at the cic call center again.  I felt
like saying "or else...?"

Idiots.

Gerry

ps. Yes I was polite.
