hi,

recd a letter from cic, LA yesterday asking me to send original passport
and photos. to say that i was thrilled would be an understatement.

my spouse and i are particularly happy cause we completed the process on
our own. some of you may say so what , but the difference in my case is
that  inspite of working and living in india, i applied at buffalo, did
my interview at LA without facing any delays in processing. nor was i
asked to submit any additonal documents/ new forms. in fact post
interview the process just speeded up. however i took the IELTS before
the interview and scored 8.5.

my timeline:

applied: buffalo oct'01 (skilled worked, non-IT)

AOR: nov'02, interview required

int: june'03

meds and RPPF: jul'03

passport request: sept'03

the bottom line is to submit a comprehensive file, be honest, keep track
of all changes in regulations and comply with the requirements laid out
in letters sent by CIC.
