Hi experts, I have already submitted sponsorship application for my parents (at Mississagua), but havn't heard anything from immigration office since last 3.5 months (since I sent the application). I am Canadian Citizen and do qualify for sponsoring both parents. Any one having the same experience? Any thoughts? How long just to get the file no? Why the delay? How can I know the current state of my application.. any contact no? So, another 3 months and you should get approval, unless backlog will grow in Mississauga. Then parents' PR applications will have to be processed in visa post abroad - check with that visa post for processing standards for parents, but keep in mind that parents are the third priority after spouses (1st priority) and economic class applicants (2nd priority). I thought It was second so this means if somebody wants to sponser parents from India it will take atleast 3-4 yrs because of work load. And one thing more I heard from somebody in India that Canada has opened one more High Commision in Chandigarh, Punjab but I never heard any news on CIC web site regarding this ? Its not an easy site to know where to find things and I came across it by accident.
