Hello,

I am wondering if someone can tell me the bad points about getting married
in Russia.  I want her to come to the USA but might have to get married in
Russia because of her ex husband not wanting to sign papers to let the kid
go.

I have heard that it takes much much longer for a fiance to come to the USA
if married in Russia.  Maybe the kid causes this?

thanks

Where you get married aside, if the ex is not wanting to sign papers
letting his child leave what are you going to do about that? My
understanding is that if permission is not given then the kid doesn't
get to go. Are you and your wife to be prepared leave the kid there?

Yes the kids are always to blame! :-)

But seriously, if you have an issue with the ex not signing the
paperwork, and assuming the goal is not only bring her to the US but her
kid, then if I were you I'd be working out that little problem before
making any wedding or immigration plans.
