We had our interview this morning. After being there way early
(successfully trying to beat early atlanta morning traffic), we sat
some in the parking lot, and than we sat in the wait room for way over
an hour and got called in almost at 9 (our appointment time was 8:30).
The lady swore us in, ask if the baby we had with us was ours and if
we had a copy of her birthcertificate...Then while she kept filling in
some form, asked when we were married, double checked my maiden name,
asked if I was ever arrested, been in trouble with police,
deportation, or domestic violence,..ask if I had anything with me that
showed for the validity of this marriage (not sure how she put that).
I asked her what she needed, and she said that she wanted whatever
copies I had...so I started handing her a notorised letter from a good
friend, copy of bank statement, copy of mortgage, showed pictures, and
she told me that was enough after I asked if she wanted also the rest
that I had (I had copies of retirement stuff, insurance benificiary
paper, car payment, bills). She asked when the last time was that I
left the US since I filed and what kind of visa I was on.
In the meantime, my husband looked at the file and said to me out
loud, wow is that all stuff they have on you since you've been in this
country, I cannot belief that. The lady kinda ignored that and kept on
entering stuff in the computer and on her sheet.
I did my fingerprint, and sign the form. She asked my old EAD's (I
gave all 3!! and told her that I paid for a new one that I still
hadn't gotten; she smiled and said that will be yours to keep then),
she asked to see my old passport with I-94, and stamped my new one. I
double checked with her if I was ok to travel in march or needed to
take AP, and she said that I was good to go. I estimate 10
minutes...And my husband smiled at me as we walked out and said is
that all there is to it?

Double congratulations.  It's good to see Atlanta folks getting through
their interviews after, what I am sure, was a long wait.
I hope you celebrated!

Hopefully Steffi's case will be adjucated soon as well as my husband's.
