My story (in short): I married my US boyfriend whilst visiting the US 5 days ago and have since returned to NZ. We did this under advice from the US immigration department (or whatever they're called) service desk. My husband is about to file his I-130 and I-129F for my K3 visa so I can live and work there while we're waiting for my immigration approval. Has anyone been through this or going through this? No one seems to be able to tell me how long this process will take. Also, is there anything in particular we should be careful of? I am desperate to get back to the US ASAP and we're trying to do things as quickly and legally as possible. Any advice available would be much appreciated. The I-130 must be filed first; once it is filed, the I-129F for the K-3 can be filed. The I-130 will be filed at one of four Service Centers depending on where your husband lives. The I-129F will be filed at the National Benefits Center. Processing times for all of these locations are available at the USCIS website, http://www.uscis.gov. (USCIS is the "Immigration Department" of the United States government.)
