Hi.
I have been mostly a lurker, but felt I should post our Chicago AOS
interview experience since this forum has been so helpful to me. I'm
not cool enough to have a timeline, but I'll add one to the end of this
post.
We arrived 20 minutes early for an 11:30 appointment and were
immediately sent upstairs. They referred to my husband as 007 which
made him pretty happy... We waited less than 5 minutes and were
interviewed by a young woman.
The questions were super standard (ss#, old address, wife's birthdate,
etc). All answers requiring numbers husband got wrong and I rolled my
eyes and corrected him. I don't recommend this, but he can't even
remember the phone number we've had for 4 years. The most personal she
got was how many people were at the wedding. She did ask a few times
when and where Ross's last entry was and how many times he had entered
the US. She updated our file, took my new I864, and that was it.
We were sucking down a glass of wine at Smith and Wollensky at noon.
Our case was pretty standard except husband had overstayed all his
tourist visas, basically has been living here since 1989, and travelled
in and out a handful of times before we married and adjusted his status.
We were prepared with all paperwork and support documents organized.
Hope others have good experiences as well.
