Hello,
Quick question:
Marriage based case, applied for I-130, I-485, I-765 and AP, got the I-765
and AP. Went for my fingerprints on March 23rd.
Haven't heard anything yet and was just wondering what the timeline would
be?
Is there anything I can do to find out where my application is? On the USCIS
site, my portfolio shows no changes for the past month.
Just wondering what the INS processing includes after getting my
fingerprints. On average what's the time duration for a decision on the
I-130 and I-485?
For the I-485, this is what it says
On March 30, 2005, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485
Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were
received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice
if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.
For the I-130, this is what is says
Your I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was received
on January 27, 2005. We mailed you a receipt with information about
processing. It is taking between 30 and 90 days for us to process this kind
of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.
Thanks...

You don't say what district office you will be using. The wait might be
six months or two years. Depends on the timeline for your particular
office. Since you only applied in late March of 2005, I think you are
worrying for no reason. Nothing works that fast in the CIS for
adjustment unless it is Dallas, Texas.

Hi Gf,
You don't say where you live. That would be the deciding factor in how
fast your case gets processed.
Your USCIS Case Status for the I-485 reads the same as ours (we didn't
do the I-130 as my hubby came in on a K-1). Ours has said the same
thing since August 2004, just after hubby had FP done. Here in Phoenix,
processing time is listed at about 20 months.
Check on the USCIS site for your local office and see how the
processing time looks. It's not always that accurate, but might give
you a rough estimate.
Best Wishes,
Rene

Hi:
Seeking "timelines" is the path to madness -- every case is different.
Everyone asks your question because it is the most reasonable question
on the planet -- and it is pretty much unanswerable. I'm ALWAYS wrong
on how long a case will take. As I mentioned in an earlier string, I
just had an I-751 approval before the ink had barely dried on the filing
reciept [OK, I'm exagerating, but 31 days shocked me] and I figured the
case would take 9 months to 2 years.
Everything will happen in due course. The thing is that if you see that
YOUR case is lagging BEHIND the published processing times for various
offices by CIS [they are available on the internet these days] by more
than 30 days, then an inquiry via InfoPass is clearly in order. [BTW,
make sure you are reading the processing time charts correctly].
BTW, that "biometrics" fee you paid -- you pay it ONCE, no matter how
many times CIS has to run the checks! So, given the notation of March
30, 2005 on the FP processing, it looks like your case will be completed
before May 30, 2006 or else new FP's will be required and the
GOVERNMENT, not you, will have to pay for it.
Good luck and take it easy.
