I've been lurking and posting on this newsgroup occasionally for the past
three years, ever since my husband and I started the I-485 process (I'm the
USC).
Well, he received his conditional permanent residency in June 2003 and we
applied for the removal of conditions through the Texas Service Center at
the end of March of this year. Today he received the notice telling him to
go to the local INS office with his passport and photos so he can get a new
green card. His old green card hasn't even expired yet!
I didn't even think it would be this quick. I was fully expecting to wait
from nine months to a year.
I'm not sure why it went so quickly, but I'm not asking any questions. I'll
assume our submission was adequate. I was prepared to go overboard with the
evidence, but after posting on this newsgroup, I took Matthew Udall's advice
about not being a "binder boy" and I scaled it back considerably. Maybe that
was it.
In any case, now we just have to wait until it's possible to get an
appointment through Infopass, but I'm prepared to keep trying every day
until we do.
Thanks to all of you for all the help!

Congratulation and good luck on getting the InfoPass appointment.
I will be doing the same starting next week. Try and get an appointment.
I just got a letter today saying my case was approved.

Which service center did you go through? I'm going through Texas. I got
my NOA just about 5 or 7 days after I sent the I-751 out. I hope things
go just as fast for us!

I sent my forms to Vermont in Jan 2005 about 20 days before my GC was to
expire. I wasn't expecting an approval so fast. Anyway, now I just have
to try and get an Infopass appointment.

Good Luck to all.
