We recieved a letter from NVC
Portsmouth asking for more information
regarding I-864 and co-sponsor (as
previously posted on)
(letter says Preference category CR1)
With the case #LND xxx Etc, which I know
is London.
We have not got round to sending this info
yet.
In the mean time my US wife received an
approval notice for the I-129f refering to
me as "SPOUSE" and I have received
PACKET 3 with a preference category K3.
The case # on this is the same as on the
letter that mentions CR1 (above)
On the Pkt 3 additional instructions
portion they have penned in "K3" after
the word "NONIMMIGRANT"  and crossed
out "MARRY AND" on the next line down.
CONFUSED? We are lol.
By reading the
contents of Pkt3 I get the impression they
regarding us as married ( We are) Is this
the route we abandon? and need to call
the London Embassy? or do I continue
and make the medical appt and follow
there instruction?
Hope someone can help, Thank you.

Are you going for the K3 rather than the CR1?

Thats just it, I`m not sure what we are doing. Is this is where I have a
choice? if so, it seems the K3 will get me there sooner if thats
possible, yet leave more paperwork to complete when in the US?? does
that sound about right?

Hi Dex,

Even with the K-3, you can enter the states and then still have a
choice whether to remain in the USA for your AOS, or return to the UK
for consular interview and receive your CR-1 visa.  It's totally up
to you. :)

Best Wishes

For London for a K3 it's a 134, for London for a CR1/VR1 it's an 864.
Sounds to me like you've got a CR1/IR1 which means the green card. What
does NVC say?

Sorry, I meant a CR1/IR1 not a CR1/VR1.

If you mean what does NVC say by calling them we cannot ever get through
to them.
On Pkt 3 I received it says it`s a K3.
Phew my head is spinning again, pass the rope lol.

Well all I can tell you is that you need to keep trying to get through
to NVC-they have operators there 17 hours a day, and that the 864 goes
with an immigrant visa and the 134 goes with a NON immigrant visa.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it, :)
