Hello
I'm new to this group -- I was directed here by a friend.
So the thing is:
I got married to a green card holder over 3 years ago -- then he became
a USC and then sometime after that I applied for AOS -- and then last
week I got my green card in the mail -- it was a two year conditional
green card -- I was under the impression that it would be a 10 year card
because we've been married for nearly three and half years -- Is this an
error? or is it actually correct becasue my hubby hasn't been a USC for
over 2 years.
Any info or insights would appreciated - thanks

Hi chatter,
Make an Infopass appointment at your local office, bring in your
paperwork, marriage certificate, etc. and ask them if this was an error
receiving the 2-year card, that you think it should have been a 10-year
card. If it was an error, they'll fix it for you. If not, they can
explain why you got the 2-year card.
Best Wishes,
Rene

I remember reading a post in which Mr. F stated that in revisions to
IMFA there was some unclear issue as to what to do in the case of a K1
taking two years to adjust, and as a result, the standard 2-yr card
could be issued in such a case because the law does not really address
the matter. I wonder if this might be also the case when the alien is
the beneficairy as a result of an LPR upgrading to citizen? I may have
the background wrong about the K1, but it seems to ring a bell :)
