The service center was Nebraska which covers Portland, Oregon where I now live. They have been great throughout.

Congratulations and woohoo Nebraska!
PS: you can get photos done across the street, but you probably already knew that.

Wow, that was a quick reply! Thank you for the photograph information. I did get some done there when I first arrived here and will be heading back to that old haunt next week...

Greg got his stamp in passport today in Portland and his Green card is on it's way. It took about 10 minutes all told. So, we are good to go! Congrats to you as well - Nebraska is doing well, and we LOVE the Immigration office in Portland. They have been nothing but nice (and quick!)

Margueriteuk - 28 Sep 2005 00:20 GMT > Thats great news, congratulations, M! > why red face though;) Thanks for the kind congratulatory words. I thought the red face looked quasi self-satisfied but now I'm looking at it I'm reevaluating and it's dawning on me that maybe, just maybe it's a smiley to show embarrassment??!! Anyway, I liked the expression - not too elated and not too serious, which kind of illustrates my feelings about immigration forms - you have to fill them in and you're glad when they come back approved.
Cheers m'dears
skg@vex.net - 28 Sep 2005 15:49 GMT Marguerite, Congrats!!! That is quick. NSC is really churning out I-751 approvals it seems. Only three months ago they were averaging a year. When I sent mine in, receipt date 07/22, I was expecting a 10-12 months processing time. Now that I see they are processing early June I-751s, I am getting hopeful for a quick approval too. However we all know that one's milage may vary :). I am traveling for three weeks in November and would actually prefer not to get an approval before that!!! I do not want to rush for an I-551 stamp a few days before leaving for my trip. Regards, S K Ghori skg@vex.net http://www.vex.net/~skg/

Hope you get your approval when you want it however!!
skg@vex.net - 29 Sep 2005 14:43 GMT Margueriteuk, That is blasphemous!!! Recant what you just said about Cricket. Just kidding. We are all entitled to our opinions. For me, Cricket is the only sport worthy of human participation. I have been living in North America for 8 years now (5.5 in Canada and 2.5 in the US) and I believe all four North American sports (term used very loosely) are sub-human, in fact two are inhumane :) I will probably get lynched for saying that in a public place!!! Glad to find out you love Subies like I do. In my world, only two nations know how to make cars and both were on the losing side in WWII

>Glad to find out you love Subies like I do. In my world, only two >nations know how to make cars and both were on the losing side in WWII >:) After 3 VWs, I switched to a Subie. Had to "tame it down" a bit for the wife - got the Legacy GT Wagon, auto. But, 18 months to get to 10,000 miles?!? With an STi, I'd hit that in half a year (we are at 11,000 miles in about 9.5 months with the Subie).

skg@vex.net - 30 Sep 2005 16:16 GMT If you notice closely, to the left of my STi in both the last two pictures, you might be able to make out my second car, a 325Cic. That has 35,000 miles in 2y5m. Both cars helped a lot in our I-751 supporting documentation. The wife and I co-own both cars, both are on the joint insurance policy, joint registration docs, etc. Regards, S K Ghori skg@vex.net http://www.vex.net/~skg/

Well, we traded my wife's Exploder in for the Subie in January, and then got her an M3 (well, what SOME people call an M3 - a Mazda 3 :-) this summer..
Alas, had to leave the Corrado in Canada..
