Just wondering, for those who have applied for EAD's recently under the
'new' system where your NOA says they will make you biometrics
appointment for you (rather than calling to schedule one as used to be
the case--obviously that was far too convenient for the petitioner for
USCIS to allow it to continue), how long did it take to get the notice
of the scheduled EAD bios and how long from the date of the notice to
the bios appointment?
The reason I am wondering, in late October we applied for husband's
third EAD (we are 27.5 months waiting for AOS at this point with no
interview appointment letter in sight). He's planning to go to
Europe the day after Christmas for 2 weeks to see his parents (we
couldn't go this summer as I was pregnant). And I am worried that
his biometrics will get scheduled for a day he is out of the country
and screw up his EAD.
Also I am wondering, under the 'new' system, do you just have to sit and
wait for the BIOS appointment, or might it be possible to get an
appointment from misinfoline people or infopass at the local office
(NYC) if we explained the situation?

Hi grouchy,
Just to let you know you're not alone, I know someone else in NYC who
has been waiting quite a while to get the EAD biometrics appointment
letter. He had the AOS fingerprinting appointment done, but has not yet
received the EAD appointment. He has an Infopass appt today, if I hear
any result from that, I'll let you know.
Best Wishes,
Rene
