here a delicate question
next month I would like to apply for citizenship. it's 3 years I've a
green card, 5 years I'm married, 3 years I'm living in the US, 1 year
I've obtained the green card with removal of condition.
now ufnrotunately my wife works in anotehr state and lives with her
father since 5 months.
this sitaution will not change in the next year or so because I have to
stay anotehr year or two in anotehr state for some career reasons.
Now will this be a big issue with the naturalizaiotn office? what I
should do? check with a lawyer? or not even apply at all?
thanks

Greetings Mike
Do not worry as all is well in your case.
The position is as follows. Once you comply with all relevant rules and
regulations and statutes then you will be welcomed to our shores as a
citizen. Once one has rec's PR status /Green card as lay people call it
and once in your case 3 years of subsequent granting of the said Green
card has passed you can apply to be a citizen. Actually the 2 year 9
month rule is applicable. You seem to be in compliance and as a result
thereof can apply to be a citizen.

Hi Mike,

If you meet all the eligibility requirements, then living apart because
of work or school is usually acceptable.

Retire to Italy is incorrect.  It's not 2 years and 9 months.  It's
during the 90 days prior to your 3rd anniversary of becoming a PR, if
you meet all the eligibility requirements.  That could end up being a
different date than exactly 2 years and 9 months after you become a PR.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Just to amplify Rene's comment, not only is RTI incorrect, she is
usually completely full of sh*t. Her answer here is just *slightly*
incorrect, as opposed to being a complete fiction. You might want to
bear that in mind if she ever offers you advice again. Even though she
claims on occasion to have some sort of legal training/qualification,
nobody know what it is, and she gives no evidence of it whatsoever in
the "quality" of her postings...

So what? How is this any different than the rest of us?

And, since you are usually incorrect or post half-truths, we will
continue to correct your posts!

Futue te et ipsum caballum!

Please, if it's any sort of hardship, don't trouble yourself about it.
We can get along just fine without your help...
