Just curious, what do the instructions on the N400 say?

According to www.uscis.gov, the N400 gets sent to the service center.
I'm wondering if the instructions specify something different? I am not
at that step yet, so I haven't looked over the N400 yet.

Are you not capable of reading the instructions? Oh... if the
instructions say to fill out the form in black ink, don't use blue ink!
