Hey guys,

We haven't yet sent off our application, but when we do it will go to
California, who is processing apps prior to Oct 18th 2005.  I have no
idea what the actual _processing_ time is, but I can only hope it's
pretty quick.

Anyway, she's planning on moving back to her parent's place in a couple
of months.  It sounds like this will create a pretty big problem for the
process.  Is it advisable / does she have to stay at the address in the
application?

I.e. assuming we're accepted straight-away, is there anything the USCIS
is sending to her Canadian address?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Oh my, yes. She will receive several packets from the US consulate in
either Montreal or Vancouver (depending on where she lives). She should
use a reliable mailing address!

Not to be a *total* killjoy, but if you are filing through CSC, don't
start out expecting a fast turnaround. Expect close to 6 months.
Hopefully you will be happily surprised; there is no way to predict
timelines for these things, but right now, CSC is not turning petitions
over very quickly.

Thanks for the info guys, those were my thoughts as well.  That really
throws a wrench into our application process because her lease runs
out in July.

VisaJourney.com charts the turnaround trend and CSC is spiking over the
last few months.  Word around other sites is that TSC is jammed and
sending their cases to CSC.  I work with several immigrants who've used
the CSC and not one of them has nice things to say.

It's a shame too, because the VSC apparently turns these things around
w/in a matter of weeks!
