Thanks for a quick reply. Two follow up questions: In you first email
you say that interim EADs are always hand delivered. What do you mean?
Will I have to reschedule another appt. to pick it up?
Also, I wanted to clear up what exactly is biometrics. My understanding
was that you get your fingerprint and an eye scan and then it goes
somewhere where they "research" you and the process takes a few weeks.
If this is so, and I dont have the biometric done yet, then I wont get
the interim EAD on the spot. Or, are you saying that for the interim
EAD they dont wait for results of the biometric and assume that it will
be ok. So,they just do the biometric and then print you out an ead
card?
Thanks

Hi Sergei,
Biometrics for the EAD consists of a 1-digit fingerprint scan, and a
photo which they take. I have not heard of an eye scan.
According to a friend of mine in NYC, in the same situation as yours,
when he went in on the 91st day, they took his biometrics but would not
issue an interim EAD on the spot. They did his biometrics and his EAD
showed up in the mail about a week later.
Good luck, and let us know how it turns out for you.
Best Wishes,
Rene

You're stuck there for the wole day and receive your card at the end of
the day.
It is possible that they take biometrics and send you home. However, I
still think that the card that shows up then is the actual EAD and not
the interim one. For EAD biometrics only refers to fingerprints and
photo taking.
They then check your "bios" with the police records, but that' only for
AOS.

That's my understanding also.
